Fall
Ingres.... At the morgan museum
due on an assignment, headed down to the morgan library museum late sunday afternoon. Small tiny room with 16 drawings and three letters. I took a look around, didn't notice much. Took a closer look second time around, and found some interesting details of this man's drawings. Famously known for his painting, his drawing were as remarkable. His style was too contemporary for his time. The combination of rendering realistically only on the face, and his sketch line drawings defines his particular style. Even after a week after the visit, his drawings remain vividly in my mind. Wishing to incorporate his style into my illustrations. Life like faces, and loose sketches for garments. Maybe it will draw too much attention to the face?? Its always good to get out of the fashion mode once in a while, and appreciate old art.

James Jean
Inspiration for IS.
Skin is the largest organ.
Skin shows what is in the inside.
Everything we feel can show up in our skin.
Emotions, pain, stress.
These creatures reveal whats on the inside of them.
Somewhat like veins, or blood that flows inside the body.
Creatures that play freely, however bound by what they have on the inside.
